The King's Gate at Kastellet

Kastellet, which sits near the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark is one of the best preserved fortifications in Northern Europe. It is constructed in the shape of a pentagram and was originally started back in the 1600's. The King's Gate sits on the south side of Kastellet and faces the city. I came across it while wandering around the area near The Little Mermaid statue. That's one thing I love about Europe - there is just so much history to explore, and you can find the neatest things just by wandering!

This place looks really cool Jim, hope you got some inside
Interesting shot and composition, Jim. That small peek inside stirs the imagination. Great shot.
I totally passed this test, way easier than your old Mensa exam. Not sure what this will do to your spam count, but it makes it a lot easier for people like me!
Nice use of the V-shaped boarding on the bridge to provide a perfect leading line, Jim! Definitely makes me want to cross the bridge and find out what the red building inside the arch is all about.
Wonderful lines and patterns here Jim.
Great shot Jim. I love that you can see the buildings beyond the arch so perfectly.
thanks so much everyone!
